The oldest civilization is located in between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, it is a region called Sumer. Sumerians were famous for their pyramid shaped temples that they used to build.

The Amazing Flood

By: Jianna Noel

The rain burst from the sky.

Lightning crackled by and by.

Thunder exploded like dynamite.

Wind whirled through the frightful night.

The earth drifted what a fright.

Men pleaded miserably.

Inside the ark Noah thanked God.

And his family sang and prayed.

While the animals jabbered away.

When the rain stopped and the land dried,

Noah danced on the deck.

His body spun from feet to neck.

He was so joyous they weren’t shipwrecked.

And his heart throbbed and he declared the Lord has blessed this holy ship.

From Noah’s family a new earth began.

The Ancient World

Mesopotamia with two exquisite rivers
And expansive ziggurats
Egypt, with freakish pharaohs
And colossal pyramids
Israel, with God’s holy law
And the captivating temple
Babylon, with the inspiring Ishtar gate
And the elaborate hanging gardens
Greece, with unreal gods
And energetic athletes
Rome, with control freak emperors
And frightful armies
The ancient world beautiful, barbaric and bizarre.
